There's a philosophical dilemma about what exactly "random" is, but its defining characteristic is unquestionably unpredictability. We can't look at the unpredictability of a single quantity, due to the fact that number is just what it really is, but we could mention the unpredictability of the number of numbers (quantity sequence).
